SAP has reported third-quarter sales of €83m for its high-performance analytics appliance, HANA. Total revenue of €3.95bn was up 16% on the same quarter last year.
The company said in a statement that HANA revenue is on track to meet full-year expectations of at least €320m.
HANA is one of three "key innovation areas" for the company. The others are mobile and cloud.
Mobile revenue was €48m, which the supplier said is on track to meet full-year expectations of €220m.
It also reported an upward trend in cloud revenue, declaring that new and upsell subscription billings have increased 14-fold over the past 12 months.

But the figures do indicate a weakening in profitability, comparing the third quarter of 2012 with the same quarter of 2011.
Operating profit for the third quarter of this year was €921m, 23% of total revenue. Figures for the same quarter last year were €1.76bn operating profit on €3.4bn total revenue, 52% return of operating profit on sales.

This 29% fall in operating profitability is reflected on the bottom line: 16% return on profit after tax (€618m on €3.95bn) in the third quarter of 2012, compared with 37% return (€1.25bn on €3.4bn) in the third quarter of 2011.

CFO Werner Brandt said he was pleased with SAP's overall performance in the third quarter.
"This is the 11th consecutive quarter of double-digit non-IFRS [International Financial Reporting Standards] software and software-related service revenue growth for SAP. We continued to invest in our cloud business in the third quarter. We remain focused on operating discipline and remain confident in our full-year outlook," he said.
The third quarter results statement said that SAP delivered double-digit growth in the third quarter, had a strong performance in the Americas, and solid double-digit growth in the Asia-Pacific region. It said that "SAP performed well in EMEA compared to the tremendous performance in EMEA last year".
