UK based construction and building materials supplier group, Aggregate Industries has awarded a £50m contract to Babcock International Group to provide fleet management services in the UK.
As part of the five year deal, Babcock International will offer fleet management services for its heavy mobile equipment (HME), ensuring service level guarantees.
Babcock International will optimise the performance, cut down ownership and management cost of Aggregate's HME fleet of over 400 vehicles operating from 150 sites across the country.
The deal will help Aggregate Industries, a unit of part of the Holcim Group to focus on its core operations of supplying heavy building materials to the construction industry.
Aggregate Industries deputy chief executive John Bowater said through the deal the company will improve its performance continually through reliable machinery which, in turn, ensures an efficient and continued service for customers
"It means we can concentrate on what we do best - producing and supplying first-rate construction and infrastructure materials - leaving Babcock to support us with their maintenance expertise," Bowater said.
Babcock chief executive Peter Rogers said the company will work with Aggregate Industries to transform its fleet performance, sharing best practice and delivering long-term benefits.
