Nuvo Research has announced the launch of Pliaglis (lidocaine and tetracaine) topical local anesthetic cream 7%/7% by Galderma Pharma in the US.
Pliaglis is indicated for local analgesia for superficial aesthetic procedures including dermal filler injection, pulsed dye laser therapy, facial laser resurfacing and laser-assisted tattoo removal.
Galderma US and Canada president Francois Fournier said, "The introduction of Pliaglis marks the next step of Galderma's growth in the aesthetic & corrective area."
Pliaglis, specified for use on intact skin on adults, leverages Nuvo's phase-changing technology that upon exposure to air enables the cream to form a pliable peel on the skin.
Nuvo pain group president Dr. Bradley Galer said, "Pliaglis' efficacy, safety, rapid onset of action and ease of use promises to greatly improve the experience of patients by providing analgesia while they are undergoing superficial dermatologic and cosmetic procedures."
