BMW Group sold 121,615 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce cars worldwide in August 2012, up 9.7% , compared to 110,903 units sold for the same period in 2011.
The company's August sales in China were up 37.5% at 25,377 vehicles while US sales fell by 5.7% to 22,553 units.
BMW brand worldwide sales increased by 8.3% in August to 102,730 vehicles.
From January to August, 963,110 BMW brand vehicles were delivered, an increase of 7.8%, compared to 893,505 units for the same period previous year.
In Europe, BMW Group sales grew last month by 5% to 49,349 vehicles, compared to 47,021 vehicles for the same period last year.
BMW member of the board of management responsible for sales and marketing Ian Robertson said that the company has achieved record sales once again in August.
"Models such as the BMW 1 and BMW 3 Series, the BMW X1 and X3, as well as the BMW 6 Series reported strong gains and made a positive contribution to our record sales performance last month," Robertson said.
