German carmaker Audi has introduced the new A3 Sedan at the ongoing New York International Auto Show in the US.
The new sedan is offered with three four-cylinder engine line-up including 1.4 TFSI and 1.8 TFSI petrol engines and 2.0 TDI turbodiesel engine, which are mated to either six-speed dual-clutch manual transmission or the S tronic transmission.
The 1.4 TFSI engine will generate an output of 140hp and 250Nm of torque and allows the sedan to sprint from 0-100km/h in 8.4 seconds, while achieving a top speed of 213km/h.
Aimed at generating an output of 180hp and 250Nm of torque, the 1.8 TFSI engine allows the car to sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds while achieving highest speed of 235km/h.
The 2.0 TDI diesel engine will produce an output of 150hp and 320Nm of torque, while accelerates the sedan from 0 to 100km/h in 8.7 seconds, while takes it to a top speed of 220km/h.
Features of the new sedan include optional driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control (ACC), rear radar sensor, active lane assist, park assist and pre sense basic system, in addition to several other solutions such as MI technology, drive selectand 4G LTE connectivity.
The sedan's electronic stabilization control (ESC) system incorporates an electronic differential lock, which allows braking the inside front wheel very slightly and assist in minimizing understeer and improve traction.
Audi is planning to launch the new A3 sedan for the US market in the first quarter of 2014.
