Jaguar Is Planning to Debut Its New Xjr Sedan at New York Auto Show

British luxury carmaker Jaguar is planning to debut its new XJR sedan at the upcoming New York International Automobile Show to be held during 29 March 2013 to 07 April 2013 in the US.

The new sedan is powered by a 5.0L supercharged V8 engine that generates an output power of 550ps.

The powertrain is expected to be mated to an eight-speed paddle-shifted ZF automatic transmission that allows the new sedan to sprint from 0-60mph in about five seconds, while offering a top speed of 186mph.

Jaguar Land Rover North America president Andy Goss said the company is growing its product lineup to meet a far wider spectrum of customer demands ranging from sedans with 2.0L and 3.0L engines and all wheel drive to the new F-TYPE sports car.

"The growing R performance lineup offers our customers the truly elevated dynamics and design, but in a Jaguar luxury package," Goss said.

Features of the Jaguar's R model include a full suite of modified steering, suspension and brakes that would enhance handling along with additional speed.

The sedan's bespoke chassis and aerodynamic developments are aimed at delivering supercar performance.

Additionally, the new model joins the Jaguar's R performance line-up, including XJ and XF All-Wheel Drive sedans as well as the F-TYPE sports car, while it is scheduled to go on sale during summer 2013.
