Automobile Production of PSA, Toyota Joint Factory in Czech Declined 20% Last Year

Czech TPCA vehicle factory Joint venture by Toyota and Peugeot Citroen, expressed that its automobile production declined 20% last Year in the influence of European automobile market downturn.

TPCA factory has 3,000 staff and its automobile production capacity is 0.3 million per year. It produces Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 and so on. Radek Knava, the spokesman of TPCA factory, said it produced 0.215 million cars last year, down 20% year on year.

For Czech which highly depends on exports, car industry is one of the main powers to promote the development of its economy. Skoda is the largest car exporter in Czech, and Hyundai also built a factory in the middle of Czech.  

To settle down European automobile market downturn, Peugeot Citroen takes underproduction steps for Trnava factory in Slovakia recently. The Group’s global sales were 2.965 million, with a drop of 16.5% year on year, in which European sales were 1.758 million, down 14.8% year on year.
