Kraft Foods Recalls Certain Varieties of Kraft and Polly-O String Cheese&Twists Products

Kraft Foods has recalled certain varieties of Kraft and Polly-O String Cheese and String Cheese Twists products, as they may spoil, leading to product discoloration, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.

The products subject to recall include Kraft Mozzarella String Cheese, Kraft Low Moisture Part Skim Jalapeno String 2/24PK, Kraft Low Moisture Part Skim String Cheese, Kraft Low Moisture Part Skim String and Kraft Barbecue String Cheese Twists.

They also include Polly-O Mozzarella String Cheese, Polly-O Low Moisture Part Skim String Cheese, Polly-O Barbecue Cheese Twist, Polly-O Italian Style Pizza CheeseTwist and Polly-O Low Moisture Part Skim Black Pepper String Cheese.

Approximately 735,000 cases of the affected products were shipped to customers across the US and none of them were distributed in Canada, the FDA said.

Products in the recall feature code dates from 25 October 2013 through 11 February 2014.

Kraft has initiated the recall following several consumer reports of premature spoilage of certain string cheese products.

The company had immediately suspended the production and distribution of the affected productsas it continues investigation to resolve the problem.

Those who have purchased any of the listed products have been advised not to eat them and instead return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
