Japanese vehicle manufacturer Honda has announced recall of about 748,000 Pilot and Odyssey models in the US, due to defective driver-side airbags.
The recall is scheduled to start in February 2013 and includes the Honda Pilot vehicles made in the period of 2009-2013 and Honda Odyssey vehicles made during from 2011-2013.
The driver-side airbags have been reported to fail during a crash resulting in injury to the driver, due to the improper assembly of the rivets that secure the airbag's plastic cover.
No accidents or injuries related to this air bag problem have occurred to date, but the the recall is a voluntary one to fix the problem, the company claimed.
The driver-side airbags in the vehicles will be repaired or replaced as a part of the recall.
