UPM Raflatac has expanded its security labels range with the introduction of two new ultra-destructible (UD) film labels.
Designed for the European market, the new films can be used by brand owners as secure labeling solutions. They can also be used in pharmaceutical applications.
The new Acrylate Gloss Clear UD and Acetate White UD can be used for security warranty seals.
According to the company, both can enhance conversion speeds up to three times compared against PVC White UD film.
Acrylate Gloss Clear U, which is claimed to be the only clear UD filmic material, can be combined with RP62 EU adhesive to use in pharmaceutical packaging substrates.
The new film’s brittle nature helps to avoid the removal of the label in one piece, when alteration or removal from the substrate is attempted.
It will authenticate products and protects brands by flagging tampering at any stage in the supply chain.
UPM Raflatac security and postal labelling solutions manager Thomas Treichel said: "Advances in labeling technology, as shown in the UD security film label products, bring clear advantages for secure labeling.
“Their unique tamper-evident features perfectly complement the articles to which they are applied - protecting brand names and consumer safety through label protection throughout the supply chain.”
Earlier this month, the company has introduced new food-safe top coated (FTC) film labeling materials.
The new top coated label stock can be used in different food labeling applications, including multipurpose PP and PE film labels.
