Ainsworth Engineered Approved The Takeover by Louisiana-Pacific Agreed on 4 September

At an extraordinary general meeting shareholders in the Canadian OSB manufacturer Ainsworth Engineered approved the takeover by Louisiana-Pacific agreed on 4 September. On 31 October, the Supreme Court of British Columbia also approved the plan of arrangement submitted by Ainsworth, which envisages the takeover of all outstanding shares by Louisiana-Pacific. However, approval in terms of competition regulations by the US Department of Justice and the Canadian competition authorities has still to be obtained. Following receipt of all necessary approvals and clarification of all suspensory conditions, the transaction is to be completed by the end of 2013 or during the first quarter of 2014.
