General Motors’ (GM) Indian division is voluntarily recalling 101,597 units of Chevrolet Beat Diesel due to issues with its clutch pedal lever.
According to the automaker, the clutch pedal lever in the affected vehicles is suspected to crack upon continued usage.
The affected vehicles were manufactured between December 2010 and July 2014.
General Motors has already begun notifying the owners of the Beat Diesel, and it has asked the owners to take their cars to any of Chevrolet's 248 authorized service centers across India.
General Motors said: "Quality and care are our highest priorities and we are committed to putting customers at the center of everything we do. If we foresee a potential issue, we ensure that it is corrected as soon as possible, as part of our complete commitment to customer satisfaction."
The automaker said that it is working closely with its service network to make the entire inspection and correction exercise.
Like most automakers, GM is also repairing the affected vehicle for free at Chevrolet's authorized service centers across the country.
