German sports car manufacturer Porsche's global sales increased 13% in May 2013 to 15,020 vehicles compared to corresponding month last year.
The company has sold 67,261units during the period between January and May 2013, 19% up compare to the same period in 2012.
In the US, the manufacturer sold 3,927 units a 37.7% increase compared to the corresponding month last year.
Porsche Sales and Marketing executive board member Bernhard Maier said in terms of customer deliveries to date, the company has exceeded its expectations in the ongoing year.
"The 911 in particular delights customers and aficionados of the brand the world over, being highly coveted in the year of its 50th birthday," Maier said.
In China, the company's sales went up by 5.9% to 3,206 units from 3,027 units sold in the same month in 2012, while in Europe the sales decrease by 2.6% from 5,168 units to 5,034 units in May 2013.
Porsche sold 2,805 mid-engine sports cars during the month, three times compared to the same period prior year and about 3,000 units of the 911 model range, 12% rise compared to the same month last year.
