Simplex Enters Into Collaboration Agreement to Provide PositiveID's Iglucose System

Simplex Healthcare has entered into collaboration agreement to provide PositiveID's iglucose system, designed for diabetes management.

Under the agreement, Simplex will purchase iglucose units and will start trialing the iglucose mobile health diabetes management solution among its members.

The FDA-cleared iglucose utilizes wireless mobile technology to collect and transmit stored data from various FDA-cleared blood glucose meters such as Johnson & Johnson's LifeScan, Abbott's FreeStyle, Bayer Contour, and Nipro Diagnostic's True monitoring systems.

The company said by wirelessly communicating data from glucometers to the iglucose diabetes management portal, glucose readings can be shared with family members and healthcare professionals.

PositiveID chairman and CEO William Caragol said, "As a leader in this space, Simplex has a strong knowledge of what people with diabetes need to improve their self-management for better outcomes, which, we believe, is an important testimonial on the value proposition of iglucose."
