Over 41, 000 Vehicles Owing to Fuel Leaks Are Recalled by Gm

US car maker General Motors (GM) is recalling over 40,000 cars due to a plastic part might crack and fuel leak.

The models that are recalled include Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 sedans from the 2007-2009 model years and Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent SUVs and Saturn Ion sedans from the 2007 model year.

The recall affects vehicles sold or currently registered in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada or Texas and the owners in Arkansas and Oklahoma are also included in the recall of the 2009 Cobalt and G5.

GM said it had not received any reports of fires or injuries related to the defect and the problem is more prevalent in warm-weather states.

In September 2012, GM had recalled 473,841 Chevrolet Malibu, the Saturn Aura and the Pontiac G6 vehicles due to a problem with the transmission.
