Coatings company PPG Industries has completed the construction of its $40m plant in Sumaré, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The 65,000ft2 plant will produce resin on-site. Resins produced at the Brazilian facility will be used to produce PPG's electrocoat products which is used by automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and industrial coatings customers.
PPG president Michael McGarry said: "The expansion of the Sumaré facility demonstrates PPG's long-term commitment to our automotive and industrial coatings customers in this very important region and enables us to further expand our localized production capabilities.
"PPG is committed to the market in Brazil and the needs of our customers across Latin America."
The material produced in the facility will cater to the needs of OEMs, aerospace, and packaging industries in Brazil.
