Sleepy's and Sealy Planned to Give Audience Members a Big Surprise

Bedding specialty retailer Sleepy's and Sealy teamed up with the"Rachael Ray Show"to give audience members who were affected by Superstorm Sandy a big surprise on a recent episode.

Guests of the show,all of whom suffered losses during the storm ranging from lost possessions to the destruction of their homes,were given new Sealy Posturepedic mattresses and bedding as part of the show's largest giveaway ever.

Sleepy's coordinated the giveaway as part of its Bedder Days program,which was established in 2011 to partner with organizations serving those in need,particularly after a natural disaster or other event that displaces people from their homes.

The giveaway was a surprise to the Rachael Ray audience and featured special guest"assistants"Regis Philbin,a bevy of Rockettes and two holiday elves.

Sealy donated 133 mattresses.Audience members will be able to select the mattress size and level of support they want,company officials said.

"Sealy is committed to helping make a difference in the lives of others and it's through this brand promise that we're excited to be involved in this unique opportunity with Sleepy's to directly aid the victims of Superstorm Sandy,"said Jodi Allen,Sealy's chief marketing officer.

"Proper sleep is fundamental,and it's tied to overall health and peace of mind,"added Adam Blank,Sleepy's chief operating officer."Sleepy's mission is to provide healthy sleep for everyone,but particularly for those affected by a disaster;the first steps to recovery and normalcy are often associated with sleeping in your own bed."
