Advance Pierre Foods Recalling About 1,200 Pounds of Chicken Fried Chicken Breasts

Advance Pierre Foods, an establishment based in Oklahoma, US, is recalling about 1,200 pounds of chicken fried chicken breasts as they may contain small pieces of metal, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The products subject to recall include cases containing 6, 22.75-oz pouches of Fast Classics Chicken Fried Chicken Breasts and 22.75-oz. pouches of Fast Classics Chicken Fried Chicken Breasts. These products bear the establishment number P-2260Y inside the USDA mark of inspection, and a best by date of 22 Jan 2014, the lot number 1522960202, and a UPC number 75901-33100.

These products were distributed across Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

The company has initiated the recall after it received two consumer complaints. This problem has occurred when a small metal hand tool fell into a grinder that was discovered by the company's metal detectors.

FSIS and the company have received no reports of injury associated with consumption of these products.

This recall has been classified as Class I, which is a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
