Apple is reportedly planning to venture into self driving car market and holding talks with car makers and automotive suppliers in this regard.
Reuters cited sources familiar with the mater as saying that the iPhone maker is looking to build the entire car and not just designing the software or individual components for the same.
The unnamed source also highlighted that Apple is taking advice from experts regarding parts and production methods, studying the potential for automated driving with focus on electric and connected-car technologies.
The news agency cited an auto industry source as saying: "Fully automated driving is an evolution. Carmakers will slowly build the market for autonomous cars by first releasing connected and partially automated cars.
"Apple is interested in all the potential ways you can evolve the car; that includes autonomous driving."
Sources familiar with the matter told Wall Street Journal the tech titan has also set up a secret lab for the creation of the electric car and the project is being developed under code name, "Titan" with hundreds of people already working on the project.
According to reports, the company executives met with contract manufacturers including Magna Steyr in regards to the project.
Previously, some patents related to self driving cars were also cited.
