German sports car manufacturer Porsche has reported sales of 162,145 vehicles in 2013, up 15% compared to the sales of same period in 2012.
In the US, the luxury carmaker achieved sales of 42,323 new vehicles, up 20.8%, compared to the same period in 2012.
The sports carmaker reported sales of 37,425 vehicles in China, up 20%, compared to 2012. Porsche sold 20,638 new vehicles in Germany.
The sales growth was driven by the Porsche Cayenne with over 84,000 units of the SUV vehicle sold. Porsche 911 recorded sales of 30,000 units in 2013.
Besides these models, the mid-engine sports car segment including the Boxster model range and the new Cayman model reported sales of 25,500 units, an increase of 117.4% compared to the same period in 2012.
Porsche sales and marketing executive board member Bernhard Maier said that the company has been able to further enhance the appeal of their brand on a global scale as demonstrated by the 162,145 deliveries in 2013.
"We are looking ahead to the coming months with optimism and are anticipating new growth with the Porsche Macan and 911 Targa models," Maier added.
