Nestle plans to strengthen its presence in India in diverse segments such as health and nutrition.
Spotting the tremendous opportunities that Indian market offers, the company that sells brands such as Maggi and Kit Kat is keen to invest more in these segments.
Nestle South Asia Region head Etienne Benet was quoted by PTI as saying: "We are in this country for more than 100 years and we want to be there for another 100 years... So definitely in India we want to continue to invest because of the potential."
"We definitely see a great opportunity in India, I will say that we have not witnessed buoyancy so far in the market and yes there have been some good signals and in the near future we expect the market to show some positive signals," he added.
Benet is positive that the Indian economy and the consumer spending would grow.
The company hopes that the rules and regulations in India are in the way that it will encourage it to do better.
