In the season 18 premiere, Zombicide, Dead of Winter and King of New York each undergo a South Park make-over.
The board game renaissance appears to have hit South Park.
Last week, a number of Esdevium’s popular titles were given the South Park animation make-over as they featured in Wednesday night’s premiere of the animated sitcom’s 18th season.
Zombicide, Dead of Winter, King of New York, Merchants and Marauders, Mice and Mystics and Lords of Waterdeep each featured in the episode titled Freemium isn’t Free – an episode centered around free mobile apps that encourage players to spend money to advance.
The episode sees Stan become addicted to a mobile gaming app, spending huge amounts of money while his Grandpa struggles with his own slot machine gambling addiction.
Towards the end of the episode, the pair are seen playing Esdevium’s Zombicide in order to rid themselves of their addictions, while still being able to play games.
This is not the first time the games company has featured in the animated series. Esdevium’s Arkham Horror board game made an appearance back in Season 14.
Esdevium has also seen its games make appearances on both The Big Bang Theory and The IT Crowd.
