Shaw River Buffalo Cheese, an Australian firm, has recalled Shaw River Buffalo Yoghurt as it may be contaminated with microbial E. coli.
The products subject to the recall include 500g and 1.2kg Shaw River Buffalo Yoghurt with Best before date 14 April 2013.
These products were distributed to Coles, some small gourmet retailers and health food stores for sale across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are advised to return it to the place of purchase for a complete refund.
Consumption of food contaminated with E. coli may cause serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses. The symptoms include severe abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea.
