PT Honda Prospect Motor, a Honda Motor arm, has unveiled the first official sketches of the crossover utility vehicle Honda BR-V, set for debut at Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show 2015 on August 30 in Tangerang, Indonesia.
Targeted at the Asian market, the new vehicle, powered by a 1.5L gasoline engine with two kinds of transmissions, has been developed by Honda R&D Asia Pacific in Thailand in collaboration with PT Honda R&D Indonesia.
The company aims to address various customer needs by introducing the model in Indonesia, with booking scheduled to begin at the international auto show.
PT Honda Prospect Motor president director Tomoki Uchida said: "The All-new Honda BR-V has been developed for the needs of customers in Indonesia... We are confident that the Honda BR-V will be loved by Indonesian customers for its appealing design and value".
The crossover, which flaunts a tough exterior design, high ground clearance, big alloy wheels and sleek roof rails, claims to offer a spacious cabin with seven seats spread across three rows.
Promising a sporty performance coupled with fuel efficiency, the car will offer standard safety features on the lines of other Honda variants.
