Global food and pharmaceutical products testing provider Eurofins Scientific has entered into an outsourcing agreement with French dairy firm Danone to acquire the latter's laboratory for infant nutrition analysis, Central Laboratories Friedrichsdorf (CLF).
This development is in response to an exclusive supplier contract for all infant nutrition analyzes for Danone and its infant nutrition arm in Germany Milupa which will represent about €30m in revenues over the next five years.
Under the deal, CLF will continue to play a key role in Danone's infant and clinical nutrition quality control organization while providing Danone and its partners access to Eurofins' food testing capabilities.
The deal strengthens Eurofins' footprint in nutritional analysis and allows it to develop CLF as its competence center for baby food analysis. In addition, CLF will expand Eurofins' capabilities with competencies crucial for analysis of infant and clinical nutrition products.
Eurofins Scientific CEO Gilles Martin said: This agreement reflects the trust of clients who are as committed to the quality and safety of their products as Eurofins is to providing consistently high-quality service."
Milupa general manager Christine Siemssen said: "We are enhancing our quality standard thanks to the additional expertise of Eurofins."
