US-based establishment Jinon Corporation is recalling nearly 359 pounds of frozen boneless beef products produced in Japan, as they were imported without the benefit of full inspection, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The products associated with the recall include Tender Loin, Chuck Roll, Ribeye, Strip Loin, Brisket, Chuck Short Ribs, Inside, Outside, Short Ribs, Top Sirloin Butt, Clod, Knuckle, Short Plate and Shank sold with a Nijiya Market label.
These recalled products from Japan were produced on 6 August 2014 and imported in September 2014.
The recall has been initiated after FSIS discovered that the importer did not present the products for USDA inspection at the US point of entry.
It has been classified as Class I health hazard which means there is a reasonable probability that the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death on consumption.
However, no illnesses have been reported associated with the consumption of the recalled products.
