Opel, the subsidiary of US carmaker General Motors (GM), has unveiled the new Insignia Country Tourer ahead of its launch at the upcoming 65th International Motor Show to be held in Frankfurt, Germany during 10-22 September 2013.
The vehicle will be made available with three engine variants either the 2L SIDI direct injection gasoline powertrain and the 2L BiTurbo CDTI engine that generate outputs of 184kW or 250hp143 kW/195 hp respectively as well as a maximum torque of 400Nm.
A 2L CDTI engine is also available for the vehicle that delivers an output of 120 kW/163hp and 350Nm of torque that can be increased to 380Nm on overboost.
Both the 2L SIDI Turbo and the 2L will be made available with a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission, while the 2L BiTurbo CDTI will come only with the latter.
Insignia Country Tourer has an electronically controlled 4x4 drivetrain that is equipped with a clutch that operates on Haldex principles, and an electronic limited-slip differential, which provides better traction on both paved and unpaved surfaces.
Features of the vehicle include grille with horizontal chrome bar, winglets alongside the tinted headlamps, two exhaust tailpipes and LED daytime running lights.
