Garden-Fresh Foods Recalls a Limited Number of 16oz. Packages of Spartan Fresh Selections

Garden-Fresh Foods is recalling a limited number of 16oz. packages of Spartan Fresh Selections American Potato Salad, as they have a potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recalled Spartan Fresh Selections American Potato Salad features a UPC Code Number 0 11213 90320 0 and a 'Use By Date' of 09/06/13/04. The product was distributed by Spartan Stores in the state of Michigan and Toledo Ohio.

The problem was identified after routine testing revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the implicated product. Listeria monocytogenes can cause illness in certain groups of people, including pregnant women, unborn and newborn babies, and anyone with reduced immunity, particularly the over-60s.

To date, there have been no reported illnesses associated with the product.

Consumers who have purchased the affected product are advised not to use the contents and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
