Xebio Co Ltd, a Japanese apparels company, witnessed a decent rise in revenue in the first half of the current financial year ending 31 March 2014.
The company which sells men’s wear, women’s wear and kid’s wear through famous brands such as ‘next’ and sports apparels under its brands such as Xebio, reported a 3.5 per cent rise in consolidated net sales at 98,325 million yen in the six months ended 30 September 2013 from 95,042 million yen in the same period a year ago.
Sales of sports apparel stood at 12,958 million yen in the six months ended 30 September 2013, accounting for 13.2 per cent of the company’s total revenue during the period. In H1 FY 2012-13, the company’s sports apparels segment had clocked sales of 13,312 million yen, accounting for 14 per cent of total revenue during the period.
The company’s fashion segment generated sales revenue of 659 million yen in H1 FY 2013-14, down from 671 million yen in the same period a year ago amidst a subdued pace of consumer spending in the world’s third biggest economy.
The company posted a consolidated net profit of 3,188 million yen in the six months ended 30 September 2013, down by 8.7 per cent from 3,490 million yen in the same period a year ago amid a rise in operating expenses.
