Daimler’s commercial vehicle subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus (MFTBC) has reported the sale of one million commercial vehicles in Indonesia.
Launched in 1970 in the Indonesian market, the company has been exporting commercial vehicles to the country.
Of all the vehicles sold in the overall truck segment, FUSO brand leads with a market share of 45.8% during the period from January to August 2013.
FUSO Canter truck of the FUSO brand stands as a top seller with a market share of 52.5% in the light duty truck segment from January to August 2013 in Indonesia.
Daimler Trucks Asia head and MFTBC president & CEO Albert Kirchmann said: "Indonesia is a strategically important market for our growth strategy as a country that already ranks third among the largest sales markets for light-duty trucks worldwide."
With an aim to sell 290,000 units until 2020, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) are in the process of merging their Asia business under Daimler Trucks Asia.
