PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business will display its complete line of fastener coatings for the automotive and construction industries at the 2012 Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) trade show, Nov. 4-6 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
The PPG display at booth 729 will highlight Electropolyseal bulk coatings, the Spincoat family of zinc-rich finishes and capabilities offered through the Alltech Engineered Finishes brand at a bulk fastener coatings application facility PPG owns in Taiwan.
Electropolyseal coatings are available for bulk processing of small parts and fasteners for electrocoat lines using barrel and basket application methods, and as zinc-rich liquid coatings for dip-spin, dip-drain and spray lines. They enable manufacturers to reduce costs by using bulk application processes while still providing them with a high-quality finish.
Spincoat AR and Spincoat ZR finishes are engineered for use in various industrial, construction and automotive applications.
Electropolyseal, Spincoat AR and Spincoat ZR finishes are chrome-free, lead-free and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (ROHS)-compliant. In addition to being highly corrosion-resistant, all three coatings feature torque-modified finishes for easy and consistent application properties, and they can be top-coated using electrocoat and dip-spin processes.
The PPG booth will be staffed in part by representatives of the ISO 9001-certified application facility in Taiwan that provides services of the Alltech Engineered Finishes brand to customers in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. They help global parts manufacturers implement and manage a full range of fastener coating processes, such as for applying electrocoat finishes to zinc-phosphate and plated substrates as well as for clean-only, pickle-and-oil, dry-phosphate, phosphate-and-oil and dip-spin finishes.
STAFDA is a nonprofit educational trade association comprised of distributors, manufacturers and representative agents of light construction, industrial and related products. The association has 2,500 members in the U.S., Canada and overseas.
