Chrysler Has Recalled Over 247,000 Vehicles Because of Several Problems Globally

US auto maker Chrysler has recalled over 247,000 vehicles including the sports utility vehicles (SUV) and cars, due to several problems globally.

The recall includes 139,000 units of Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger sedans from the 2011 and 2012 model years and 78,500 two-wheel drive Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro midsize SUVs.

In the US, the company has recalled 61,400 vehicles, while the recall affects13,700 vehicles in Mexico, 1,000 units in Canada and 2,300 units in the remaining parts of the world.

Cars manufactured from 11 April 2011 to 14 December 2011 along with SUVs are included in the recall.

According to NHTSA, the heat shield can drop and rub against the drive shaft, causing it to wear and break, resulting in the power loss and inflation of the side air bags may inflate.

The company has also recalled about 30,000 small SUVs because a faulty hose inside the gas tank can cause them to run out of fuel.
