Packaging solutions provider Graphic Packaging has completed the previously announced acquisition of A&R's European Beer and Beverage packaging business, A&R Carton for euro 26m.
The combination of Graphic Packaging's European packaging business with the acquisition is said to create one of Europe's largest folding carton businesses.
According to the company, the acquisition will provide web and sheet-fed converting assets creating a manufacturing platform in Europe, which is similar to its operations in the US.
The A&R packaging business includes two manufacturing facilities that annually convert about 30,000t of paperboard.
The folding carton facilities are located in the Netherlands and Germany.
