Rune Marki,LIF president and Jonathan Lucas,president of the Lighting Association
The Lighting Association(LA)and the Lighting Industry Federation(LIF)are to merge following a period of consultation with their members.
The associations held Extraordinary General Meetings on 29 September where members of both organisations voted to merge the two associations.
The new association will be known as The Lighting Industry Association and will be incorporated in early 2012.
Commenting on the merger,president of the LIF Rune Marki,said:"LIF members believe?that the merging of operations of LIF and LA into one new expanded association will be?beneficial to?the members and the market generally,both in terms of better representation of the Industry and the provision of services to members,during a period of rapid technological change for the industry."
Jonathan Lucas,LA President said:"A great deal of work has gone into the proposal to merge during the course of this year and I am delighted that the members have voted in favour.A single stronger association will better equip the whole industry for the challenges that we are facing in a rapidly changing business environment."
