2,180 Units of Nv Vans and Trucks Will Be Recalled by Nissan

Japanese carmaker Nissan is planning to recall 2,180 units of the NV Vans and the Titan pickup trucks, over the problems with the gear shift levers.

The recall affects 1,760 units of the 2013 model year Nissan NV cargo vans and 420 units of the 2013 Titan pickup trucks.

An improperly installed gear selector plate lock clip in the NV vans prompted the recall as it could lead to the gear shift selector malfunctioning.

The lock clip could result in the false indication of the gear shift in park or drive positions leading to unexpected rollaway, accidents, and injuries.

The brake shift interlock of the Nissan Titan pickup trucks comes with certain chemicals that could cause the transmission shift lever to be moved without use of the brake at some times and to shift the vehicle from park to drive, the driver would have to depress the brake pedal.

Fault in the transmission can lead to the sudden and unexpected movement of vehicles.

The company is expected to start the recall in second week of April 2013.
