The retailer has adapted the lyrics to 'If I Were a Toy' in its new 40" TV spot documenting the imaginative journey of Oscar the young boy.
Smyths Toys Superstores has revealed its own take on the hit Beyonce single If I Were a Boy for its new TV advert.
The first TV ad to be created by McCann Manchester since the firm won the £6 million business earlier this year, the toy retailer changes Beyonce’s now famed lyrics to ‘If I Were a Toy.’
The 40” spot documents the journey through the imagination of Oscar, a young boy who becomes enchanted by a Smyths Toy Store.
The advert will run across terrestrial and children’s channels and will be supported with digital, radio, in-store, experiential, social media and print.
“We want to bring the excitement of the toy store as seen through the eyes of a child to our customers,” said Sinead Byrne, joint head of marketing, Smyths Toys Superstores.
“We have really enjoyed working collaboratively with McCanns, MPC, OPutsider and also our director Henry Littlechild, to create this magical campaign and we are excited to finally reveal it to our customers.”
