Mini Will Expand Its Portfolio with The Launch of New Vehicle

British vehicle brand MINI will expand its portfolio with the launch of new vehicle variants in July 2014, which will be equipped with new and better engines.

The company will launch the new diesel variant MINI Cooper SD and the new entry-level petrol engine model MINI One First, both claimed to offer better driving experience and fuel consumption.

MINI Cooper SD will be launched with a 2L four-cylinder engine paired with six-speed Steptronic transmission that generates a maximum output of 170hp and maximum torque of 360Nm at 1 500 rpm.

Combined with the MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology, the engine of MINI Cooper SD features a turbocharging system with variable turbine geometry and common rail injection with magnet valve injectors.

The new diesel engine offers acceleration of 0-100kmph in 7.3secs along with an average fuel consumption of 4L to 4.1L per 100km and CO2 emissions of 106g/km to 110 g/km.

MINI One First will be equipped with a 1.2L three cylinder petrol engine comprises turbocharging, petrol direct injection and variable camshaft control on the intake and exhaust side delivering an output of 75hp and maximum torque of 150Nm at 1 400rpm.

The engine also offers acceleration of 0-100kmph in 12.8secs along with average fuel consumption of 5L-5.2L per 100 kilometres and CO2 emissions of 117g/km and 122 g/km.
