Fuji Xerox Australia has released the first-ever Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and carbon neutral paper on the Australian market.
Using the ISO 14044 standard, Fuji Xerox Australia has quantified the energy used through the life cycle of the paper and purchased VCS (verified carbon standard) credits that offset the carbon emitted through the energy used during all stages of the paper lifecycle.
The Fuji Xerox Australia paper ranges that have been certified FSC and carbon neutral are Performer A4 80gsm, Business plus Digital A4 85gsm and Colotech Idol A4, A3, SRA3 100gsm.
“The introduction of the carbon price means many organisations are seeking energy efficiency in their business operations, and becoming more aware of their environmental footprint as a result,” said Fuji Xerox Australia product and marketing manager, Nayef Abourizk. “By offering carbon neutral paper to our customers we are acting early to better measure and manage the environmental impact of our activities.”
Law firm King & Wood Mallesons has selected carbon neutral paper from Fuji Xerox to support a range of business initiatives.
Fuji Xerox Australia supports a number of global projects through the purchased carbon offsets. The company assists Cambodian households replace traditional stoves with more efficient versions that use 22 per cent less fuel, while in India, Fuji Xerox Australia is helping a local plant by establishing sustainable energy generation processes from residual rice husks. Similarly in Brazil, ceramic producers have switched to biomass fuel for thermal energy.
