German chemical company BASF's subsidiary, BASF Coatings has opened a new training center for automotive refinishing, the Refinish Competence Center (RCC), with an investment of over EUR2.7m in Cesano Maderno, Italy.
The 1,200sqm center will offer courses on application techniques, optimal use of paints and color matching to learn, practice and master the use of BASF′s automotive refinish products.
According to the company, the training sessions and workshops have been developed and structured in order to increase productivity of bodyshops as well as their efficiency and competitiveness.
BASF Coatings Italy managing director Renato Chiesa said, "In the current complex market environment, we believe that our center will offer bodyshops additional tools that will contribute to increase the efficiency level and the profitability of their business."
The new center houses two lines for small damage repair, two paint booths, a painting mixing station and an infrared drying system.
In addition to the training facility, the centers also serve as marketing platform for BASF Coatings refinish brands and the equipment partners.
