Thai paper-maker Double A has acquired a pulp and paper mill facility in northern France from the French government agency, Eure.
Double A has bought the properties and assets needed to re-start paper activities for an amount of Euro15 million ($20m) while French energy company Neoen will take over energy operations for Euro3 million (3.9m)
The Alizay mill, which employs around 200 staff, has a combined pulp and paper production capacity of 300,000 metric tonnes per year.
The mill will use two types of raw materials – virgin short fibre sustainable paper from farmed trees, which will be used for Double A paper prodction; and recycled fibre for the production of the paper brand Evolve.
