Corning Glass Museum Offers Several Fall Exhibition and Activities

Corning Glass Museum Ushers in Autumn With Exhibits, Activities

Summer is winding down,but there will be no shortage of things to do this fall and winter at the Corning Museum of Glass.

Now's the time to get into the autumn spirit at the museum.The world's largest glass pumpkin is on display from now until Nov.30,and visitors of all ages can also create their own colorful glass pumpkins.

Museum visitors can also purchase any of the thousands of glass harvest-themed items at the Glass Farmers Market Oct.6 through 8.

The museum is also offering several fall exhibitions in addition to its permanent gallery.Among the offerings are Founders of American Studio Glass:Harvey K.Littleton and Dominick Labino;Masters of Studio Glass:Erwin Eisch;and The Flood of'72:Community,Collections,and Conservation.

Other fall activities will include Families Explore:Venice on Oct.28,and 2300°:Americana on Nov.15.

For the holiday season,the Corning Museum of Glass is offering Glass Wonderland,featuring life-size glass snowmen,a 14-foot glass tree decorated with more than 1,200 glass ornaments,and a chance to create your own glass ornament.

There will also be a holiday open house Dec.1 and 2 that will offer free admission,holiday music,and discounted make your own glass experiences.

Other holiday season activities will include 2300°:Salsa on Dec.20.The museum will spice up a cold winter evening with Latin glass and music.
