Japanese company Fuji Heavy industries, the maker of Subaru, has unveiled Subaru global platform which will be single platform to build its next generation of vehicles.
The single platform will help enhance the overall vehicle performance as well help in streamlining production.
Subaru global platform is part of six initiatives by the company to enhance Subaru.
The company says that this new platform has been designed keeping the future in mind and looks at ahead to 2025.
Fuji Heavy industries president, Yasuyuki Yoshinaga said: "The Subaru Global Platform lifts Subaru's automotive technology to new heights, and marks the next step in the evolution of 'Enjoyment and Peace of Mind', the value that Subaru offers to its customers."
"This new platform represents the culmination of the know-how we have developed over many years, and we are confident that it will allow us to produce vehicles that live up to our proud traditions and meet the high expectations customers have of Subaru.
"We continue to work on designing ever-more attractive vehicles that offer the customer both enjoyment and peace of mind."
According to the company, the new platform can help in realizing a new type of driving experience.
The company wants to improve straight line stability with increased rigidity throughout the body and chassis.
It will incorporate significant improvements to the suspension system and will improve the center of gravity.
Fuji Heavy industries also wants to improve noise and vibration suppression by optimizing the frame structure and stronger joints between parts.
The company says that the new concept has been designed to easily incorporate various models such as electric, hybrid and gasoline models.
With such design, the company will not have to separately develop individual platforms for different types of vehicles in the future.
Another advantage about this concept platform is that it will be easy to develop components for multiple models in the same production line itself.
It says that all of the next generation Subaru models will be based on this production concept.
