The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) granted an investment loan of US$900,000 to the company Fortuna in Tajikistan. With that loan, the plant erected in 2000 by Fortuna, which produces, inter alia, door and window frames, is to be modernised and expanded. According to the EBRD, the plant's production lines are outdated and unsuitable for production on an industrial scale. The loan is to be used to upgrade the plant to a state-of-the-art technical level and to consolidate the position of the company as market leader in Tajikistan.
