The Better Chip has unveiled two new flavors of tortilla chips, Beet and Chipotle, to celebrate the National Tortilla Chip day.
The Chipotle variant is made from jalapeno peppers that are smoked over wood chips and crushed into whole grain corn masa, and pairs naturally with favorites such as layered bean dip, cheese and salami or black bean salsa.
Made with beets chopped and cooked directly into every chip, the Beet chips can be paired with herbed goat cheese, hummus and Greek yogurt dip.
The Beet and Chipotle flavors replace the Sweet Onions with White Cheddar and Red Pepper with Salsa Fresca, which will be retired in 2014, and are available in the deli section at grocery stores across the US.
The Better Chip vice president and general manager Andrea Brule said, "Beet and Chipotle stuck out as really powerful flavors that are on trend with the current dining scene, and we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our favorite holiday than by releasing our two new flavors on National Tortilla Chip Day."
The company said that its products are vegan friendly, gluten-free, Non-GMO verified or undergoing Non- GMO verification.
