Dieppe, NB — Trucks For Change Network is expanding its reach into Atlantic Canada.
Oakville, Ontario-based Trucks For Change (T4C), which was founded in 2011 to allow carriers a way to offer reduced-rate or donated truck capacity to charities needing to move goods, is now working with the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) to extend its services—including its load posting tool—into Eastern Canada.
According to APTA, the newly formed partnership is “designed to encourage more APTA members to join the network to assist local affiliates of national charities such as Food Banks Canada, Habitat For Humanity Canada, and others.”
T4C president and founder Pete Dalmazzi is happy to be working with the Atlantic Canada organization.
“APTA members have always actively supported charities. Our job is to make the process more efficient by finding the right carrier with the right equipment in the right place to help,” he said.
“Finding affordable transportation often makes the difference between a charity accepting donated goods or having them end up in landfill sites, so there’s an environmental benefit as well. We’re thrilled to have APTA’s endorsement, and we look forward to helping its members make a difference in communities across Atlantic Canada.”
Jean-Marc Picard, APTA’s executive Director Jean-Marc Picard says working with T4C is a good fit for the association.
“T4C’s mission is consistent with APTA’s goal of promoting an environmentally and socially responsible commercial trucking industry in Atlantic Canada. We are happy to endorse its efforts, and we encourage our members to participate.”
