Japanese automaker Honda Motor's Chinese venture Dongfeng Honda Automobile is planning to recall 408,069 vehicles in China over the defective piston rods.
The recall affects the company CR-V sport utility vehicles (SUV) manufactured for 02 March 2010 to 30 August 2012.
According to the China's General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection and Quarantine, the piston rods for shock absorbers have a possibility to get factures.
Under the recall, the manufacturer will check the vehicles for the damages and replace the respective parts.
Dongfeng Honda Automobile is a 50-50 joint venture of the automaker Honda Motor and the Chinese automotive manufacturer Dongfeng Motors.
Earlier, the joint venture company had started the production at its new second automobile plant in Wuhan, Hubei Province.
