The New Series of The Trucks Is Launched by Volvo Trucks

Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo Trucks has launched the new series of its trucks with the engines that comply with the Euro 6 emission standards.

Scheduled for launch in spring 2014, the truck series includes variants ranging from the medium-duty 5L to the heavy-duty 13L engines along with the 16L Euro 6 engine and the I-Torque driveline for the 13L engine.

Volvo Trucks Drivelines product manager Astrid Drewsen said, "Total fuel economy is very important for our customers, and we have a combination of technology and service offers that will be difficult for our competitors to match."

To make the vehicles adhere to Euro 6 requirements, the manufacturer has equipped its heavy-duty engine range including the D11, D13 and D16 with the catalytic emission control and selective catalytic reduction (SCR).

Volvo Trucks has also enhanced the catalytic coating of its SCR unit and the AdBlue injection system.

Other improvements made to the vehicles include integration of the SCR system with non-cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF) in its D11 and D13 Euro 6 engines.
