Sales of Its Passenger and Commercial Vehicles Contribute To The 3.8% Rise of Mazda

Japanese carmaker Mazda has reported 3.8% rise in sales for the fiscal year 2012 that ended in March 2013 to 879,129 units, compared to the previous year, contributed by strong sales of its passenger and commercial vehicles.

The company has reported 0.3% drop in its domestic sales to 15,503 vehicles during year, while a 6.8% increase was registered by the sales in the first three months of 2013 to 3,899 units.

For the year, the carmaker's global production rose 1.3% to 1,199,841units and has registered 3.4% growth to 319,554 units during the first quarter of 2013, compared to the corresponding period in 2012.

According to the company, its exports in the year rose 7.5% to 702,608 vehicles and has also recorded 18.56% rise in exports to 197,188 vehicles during the first quarter of 2013.

During the month of March 2013, the company's sales increased by 6.7% to 117,078 units that includes 85,719 units of passenger vehicles and 1,175 units of commercial vehicles.
