10 Hectare Bamboo Forest Are Growing Well with Fresh Bamboo

Recently, news came from State Forestry Bureau ICBR that 10 hectare bamboo forest in Anhui Huangshan Mountain and Zhejiang Yuyao are growing well with fresh bamboo, bulky pole and high yield after using Baosteel wrapped slow released fertilizer, which is much superior to the nominal fertilizer. This domestic new type green & efficient fertilizer is another breakthrough of Baosteel, bringing gospel to ecological farming.

Last March, Baosteel Development Co., Ltd. Baosteel Construction cooperated with ICBR to initiate R & D study on slag micro powder to manufacture wrapped type slow release fertilizer. Bamboo is selected as research target. According to growing characteristics and nutrient requirement, granular compound fertilizer is formed in certain proportioning, and than mixed with slag micro powder to produce wrapped slow released fertilizer. Through 1 year's effort, breakthrough is made. This early spring, ICBR selected 10 hectare bamboo forest in Huangshan Mountain and Yuyao to conduct experiment application of the fertilizer on bamboo within growing period. Comparison results show that bamboo forest using slag fertilizer enjoys lush growing, high density and bulky pole, much superior to the forest around, with about 20% yield increase. Detected by authoritative department, Baosteel slag fertilizer has reached high concentration ratio in nutrients and enduring effect, with remarkable result in bamboo nutrient requirement during the entire growing period, which is conducive to soil improvement, nutrient balance with no toxic pollution and low production cost. It is the domestic new type ecological fertilizer.

It is said Baosteel Construction is cooperating with Hunan hybrid rice research center, where Academician Yuan Longping is working, to extend slag fertilizer into such crop as paddy rice. Meanwhile, Baosteel is actively seeking out industrial partners so as to realize large scale production of slag fertilizer, making due contribution to promote fertilizing balance & slow fertilizing technology, develop resource-saving agriculture and realize sustainable yield and growth of crops.
