Traditions Is Recalling 2,486 Pounds of Frozen Chicken Meals as They Contain Milk

Traditions, a Missouri-based establishment, is recalling 2,486 pounds of frozen chicken meals as they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The products being recalled is a three-compartment tray containing 'Lemon Pepper Chicken Breast Filet with Rib Meat Smoke Flavor Added / Mixed Vegetables / Basil and Garlic Fettuccine'.

This product was produced and packaged on 5 October 2012, 19 December 2012 and 28 January 2013 and features the establishment number 'P-13850' inside the USDA mark of inspection. It was distributed to food service institutions nationwide.

The problem was discovered by Traditions during a routine label review. Milk is a subingredient of butter flavoring used in the product. The problem occurred as result of a change in formulation which resulted in milk being omitted from the label.

FSIS and the company have received no reports of reactions associated with the consumption of these products.
